Hi all, I have a 1990 ACTY that I bought needing some engine work. It had a burnt valve in the #3 cylinder. I replaced it, reassembled it,and have it running but have never been able to set the distributor timing correctly. It is really underpowered in high gear. What are the specs? I have moved it back and forth a little, but never seem to get optimal power out of it. Thanks! Jaxon
Maybe this helps https://minitrucktalk.com/threads/how-to-set-ignition-timing.13693/ The Acty service manual from James Danko mentions: Ignition timing: MT, 4MT, 5MT : Benchmark 4 +/- degree /1000. 4=/- 2 degree / 1150 AT: 4 +/- 2 degree / 950 Maybe you get one of these repairs manual, here a free sample from google books https://books.google.co.jp/books?id...epage&q=Honda ACTY distributor timing&f=false http://www.amazon.com/Honda-English-Factory-Service-Manual/dp/0557027993
Thank you very much - nothing or no one mentions whether you need to disable the advance before testing though. Guess I'll have to just wing it! Thanks!
