what kind of top speed did you have before and what is it now? think it is because of the width or height of the tires.
I only took it out on the road once after I put these tires on(back at school now). I didn't pay attention to the wind and it held 60kph with a cold engine. Maybe a top speed now of 75. On original tires it would hold 80-85 pretty much anytime. My absolute top speed down a hill with the wind behind me was 117.
117kph, that is almost 73 mph. bet she was screamin lol. I have 175-70-14 tires (24" tall) on my hijet and it will run about 62mph (100kph) wide open on flat ground. it will cruise about 50 to 55 mph pretty decent. I had about the same top speed with the stock tires on also. I have developed a bad vibration about 50 mph, think it is a tire out of balance. it may be the width of the tires slowing you down, more resistance to the road. I have a set of 175-65-14 tires that I am thinking about grooving to get better traction instead of going with atv tires.
That would probably be the best thing to do if you still want stockish speed. I wish I had an rpm gauge for that 117kpm stretch.
ok small update with my not running right when lights or heater turned on checked at batt. and alt. 14.6 when running at 1500 it was still warming up. turned off batt had lil over 13 3 hours later 12.8 and that was at 7 pm so ill check when i get off work and get home around 630 ill check again if its much lower that 12 im guessin battery but idk lol thanks for the help so for guys
ironic cause the day before he hit one with his work van and totaled it off and then two days later bumped one on the highway
another small update on my end i checked my battery after setting for 36 plus hours its still at 12.4 i think is wat it was or 12.5 so that should be a good battery. right? so i guess beings battery is good alt. is good next is ground and cables followed my carb? maybe it needs and adj. thanks again guys for helpin and any ideals would be great
yea its fine i turned the idle screw a lil it was running just a lil high and played with the carb heater tubes making sure they was not plug and wat not after that it started runnng better and only droppin 150 to 200 not 350 to 400 rpm drop so thats way way way better and i can live with that lol and i added some seafoam to see if that helped it didnt seem to so idk watever it was seems to be ok for now lol. while i was messing with the mini i ran my plow cables(this was after it started to run better) hook hot to batter and ground to the engine ground it was about two inches to short to hook to battery or i would have but it works and i dont see a problem with it if thats good enough to ground the block it will work for this lol thanks again for the help guys
Added heating to my winshield washer fluid...works perfect and was easy as hell to do..just coiled a brake line around the upper rad hose and spliced it inline to the washer jets...video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYgXvyx4SOg
Fupa....What are you gonna come up with next? Love the video..What did you use to attach the your bed rails?
The bedrails are pvc handrails (habitat for humanity re-store $2 each) they are attached with 1/8 in thick 6x6 t-braces
changed the oil, gave it a tune-up,changed the front marker lights to led, installed JVC stereo and kissed it good night.
I ordered the timing belt/water pump kit and a cap/rotor/plugs/wires kit. Still trying to figure out which wheel is a straight bolt on for my truck.
If you are going to change all that, don't forget the tensioner for the timing belt and the crank/pulley seals.
It's all in the kit I ordered. I have a cam seal that's leaking, That's what kickstarted the whole project.
ok so i finally got around to starting in on the winch wiring beings i got the power and ground ran for the plow im going to jump off of the with a quick plug to the control box for the winch the another quick plug so i can use the winch in the hitch like i already have it mounted for now all i have to do is mount the winch control box in my front bumper tie off the wires and test it but the thing is i did all the cuting striping and crimping of the wires for the winch while i was at work (work 3rd shift) cuz its been sooooooo slow lately so i brought it with me tonightop: just to have something to pass time lol i just hope i didnt cut any wire to short i guessed the length from memory and ideal of where im mounting the control box so it should be fine if not ill just move the box closer so the wires will work no big deal. the only wires for the winch i will have left to do is if i chose to run either i fixed cable that will stay on the truck full time or just carry a cable in the tool box that will run from the control box in the front to the rear if i would ever need the winch there but that can wait and will have to beings i dont have the cable right now for that part is anyone getting any snow yet this year post some pixs of the minis plowing i have been waiting for snow since November started but no luck yet im hopping i dont have to wait to much longer i want to see how well Mazzie plows. ok well sorry for being so long winded.
I replaced the 2" rubber strut top spacers that my Carry came with for a 2 1/2 lift kit that i bought off e-bay. It got the front pumpkin a hair higher off the ground and improved the camber. Also changed the engine oil and all gear oils to synth. So far I have installed a boat rack that extends all the way down to the front bumper, wired for a winch that installs in hitch receivers front and back, snorkelled the air intake, had the engine rebuilt, put a heli-coil in the stripped-out hole for the timing belt tensioner, and probably a couple other things that I've blocked out of my memory.
Final test before the snow flies! I'm even more ready this winter than I was last winter... now if we'd actually get some darn snow.... http://youtu.be/P4WgX_Rv8Pk
Iron you can have my snow if you want it... Ordered a set of Atrai California mirrors from yokohamamotors.com in primer ready for painting to match the truck
