First and foremost I would like to thank Kmoneil the admin for making this sub forum for us owners or future owners of Kei Cars (Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappuccino, Autozam AZ-1, Etc...). This sub forum is also a bit of a test to see if enough people own these vehicles to make it worth having a sub forum for. Me personally I will be (August 6th) the new owner of a Suzuki Cappuccino that will need lots of work (got it at a great price from Japan). If anyone out there owns one of these awesome Kei cars go ahead post something showing that this sub-forum can become something great.
I check the auctions every day for a Cappuccino. I want the EA21R so it looks like I may be waiting until next year to snag one. Oh well, I was patient when trying to get my van, I can be patient about this too.
Ya the second variation of the motor is pretty nice with that timing chain but I got such a good deal on mine I'm okay with just getting the first version lol. I might stuff in a 13b at some point anyway.
There was a guy in Great Britain, who had both a Cappuccino, and a Carry that he was working on. He had a YouTube channel, and did some good videos of change differential rations, etc. I haven’t seen any new vids in a couple of years, and unfortunately I can’t remember his name.
Oh dang that sounds sweeettt. My biggest worry is the cappo transmissions... I have heard they can only handle like 150 HP without blowing
The Cap I don’t fit in , 6’3” 270# , the beat tho , no problems If anything I almost have to pull the seat up a bit . The Alto no issue .
Damnable autocorrect, and if I’m in a hurry, I don’t always catch it. I type ratios and it decides that it likes rations.
An Alto Works or a Mira TRXX Avanzato or a Vivio RX-R is on my wishlist.. My Jimny has been laid up for a time because of needing an engine and then an oil leak in the new engine.
I have been looking at buying a kei car for a couple of years now, but still doing as much research as I can. I narrowed my choices down to a Honda Beat or a Subaru Vivio. Finding this forum has been a huge help. Sometime in the next couple of months I should be ready to get the car I want. Can't wait to share my excitement and experiences with everyone here!
Changed my signature to match my present situation. I gifted my 2002 DA62 Carryvan to my step-daughter & SIL to do as they wish with. Since I did the damage to my left rotator cuff I find that I am somewhat limited in what I can do as a mechanic. At my age(83), I have elected to not have the required surgery to repair it as I understand that is is quite involved and requires an extensive amount of time to fully recover and I may or may not be granted that time. To enable us to keep mobile, I purchased a 2022 Suzuki Spresso (don't think you will find it in the states) to do as our runabout here in the Philippines. PHP 561,000 (Philippine Peso) Approx $10,700 out the door as a cash purchase. Not bad for a brand new vehicle. 4 doors & hatchback, seats 5, has airbags & seatbelts, AC, very dark window tinting(lessens the AC load) , K10BN 998 cc, 5 spd, 2wd. Rebadged and sold as a Suzuki but manufactured by Maurati in India. Bit skeptical at first but does seem to be a solid unit and is quite peppy(will chirp the tires in 3 lower gears). Fred
As I've stated in the past, I'm quite ignorant about computers and have never bothered to figure out pics. I only know enough to use as a typewriter. It is quite a sexy little looker. It is actually a couple inches wider, about 4 inches longer & 8inches lower than the Carryvan. On utube search for Suzuki Spresso to see some vids. Top speed seems to be about 140Kms per hour which is quick enough for me in the little skateboard. Fred
