minimum wagee is still 7.50 an hour in mississippi and resturants here don't pay anywhere near that, usually around 2.50 an hour. I do agree if I was a waiter that would really piss me off. it would be just fine if you left the scripture along with a tip.
Yea, Ontario, way up here, it is about $10/hr, and our dollar is hovering at par, for the most part. Got to pull back a little though. Apollogies to those mormons, or the like. They probably believe that they are doing "the good work" and if they left you the real tip, it wouldn't have the same "impact"...got to try and save you, and all that...I guess they think that it is a free pass, to the obligation, to tip. Do you really think that your 401K has any chance of competing with that? Back in 1961, a "millionaire" only had to pay $0.10 for a loaf of bread, compared to today's $1.00 loaf of bread, you would need $10,000,000, to be a "millionaire", and in 2061, you will need, $100,000,000, to be a "millionaire". in some states different jobs have different minimum wages. so 2.50 is probably rock bottom.. but no matter what i made, that note would still be a piss off!!
7:50 is still minimum wage here in ms but for some reason resturants are not required to pay their waiters and waitresses that rate. something about they earn their pay by their tips not their hourly rate. you are right, that note for a tip would suck.
they said the same thing here when min wage went up. all the restaurants did was increase the menu price accordingly...
