should say i know him very well heas a good friend, known him for many years, he learnt spraying from his dad, steve has been painting for over 40yrs himself, he painted our beetle, done a excelent job on that, ive been trying helping him out to keep costs down,

willing to help anyone i can, have you got pics of yours fay? has it passed its sva test and got its import certificate?

guess they not as good as on the pre-approval pictures they normaly send over?

will get more pictures for the weekend, the outside should be done at least then its the interior and paint hopefully by mid may

All a bit in limbo at the moment.

The car is definitely on the shabby side and the paintwork needs some serious TLC, a 'T' cut might do it but probably not, and that is why I am interested in your sprayer.

The upholstery is badly stained, if the covers come off and can be cleaned they might be saved, the carpets not sure....

There are some bits of interior trim missing.

A potentially bigger problem is that neither of the sunroofs work and may require more than a few hours of work and some replacement parts.

I was expecting to pay for a decent service, maybe a cambelt change, but how much of the rest will be down to me, I don't know, the importer has not been very quick to reply to emails, I wrote expressing my concerns on Sunday and I have heard nothing back yet.

Will send some photos when time allows.

    Fondest

Wow. I see my message didn't post last time. I'm completely jealous, and it's a good thing that we don't live in the same country. I'd give you your choice of my STi's or Legacy GT-B for that beauty. Wonderful color choice, and looks top notch.

    Killer.

Finally collected the car last week. It was due the end of April, so it has tried my patience beyond breaking point. The problem was mainly the non functioning sliding roof. Neither worked and getting the parts from a now tsunami wounded Japan was a drawn out process. Many very emotional phone calls later and an interminable amount of time, I set out for London from Bristol and the garage responsible for 'prepping' it.

I rather fear this will be a 'project' car to get it right.

I achieved 22 miles of trouble free motoring and found myself on the hard shoulder with coolant all over the road.

When somebody thought it would be a super wheeze to change the front of a Subaru into a VW, they rather overlooked the fact that the Subaru front had radiator grills or didn't think it important to feed cool air to the radiator. Apparently it is. Will post that in a new thread in the hope of finding some accumulated wisdom, but that is why in the attached ( I hope) photograph it is up on stands while I explored the possibilities.

    watch this space?

how do you like using the colourtune....I've always wanted to try one....love the coppery/orange colour you chose on the van

colour tune is great on the older engines like the sambar and my old school 1978 vw t2 bay i have it helps you get the mixture of fuel to air just right, i have found the subaru runs a lot better if its a very lean mix blue/yellow, where my old camper likes it better ritch blue

it can also help find out problems with the fuel system as there are other tests it can do as the cer is at reves and on/off choke

well worth the money and worth while doing a few times a year
