Have a 2000 suzuki carry just want to know what type of coil springs goes on this truck got a set of the 23250 afco but they dont match the old ones. Is their a place to get a alternator that will put out more than 45 amps?

not sure on your coil springs ,but the alternator is a simple matter of taking it to an alternator rebuilder and getting it rewound

When you say the new Afco springs don't match the old ones, what exactly do you mean? The inside diameter, outside, height, width?

I was under the impression that those springs are not "direct" replacements, but rather ones used by people to "gain" a little bit of lift and a better ride with, ahem, "beefier" people such as myself inside the cab. :D

The old spring is small around the top like 2 1/2" the bottom is 4" the spring shaped like a funnel but it fits the strut the new one is 2 5/8 all the way. The alt shop said they could not get any more amps out of that small of case.

how many amps are you needing ? what are you running that is drawing that much...a swap to leds on many of the lights will give you a few more to play with as well...if you are needing serious off road lighting you can also go to leds as well, then not worry about the alternator

I did some alternator research and found the Geo Metro alternator at 55 AMPS fits but the connect is different. There is also a 75 amp for the Metro.

I got a 75 Amp but have found the body is larger, so the tensioning bracket doesn't line up. Planning on fabbing up a different tensioning bracket.

As far as rebuilding, Mine had a bad voltage regulator and the local shop couldn't locate a replacement.

My truck has an OEM 55 amp, myabe I've got a higher output alternator because it is a dump.

Did you ever figure out what alternator to go with? I have a 99 db52t and my alternator is shot and the local rebuild shop said the same thing, couldn't get proper parts

Uhm, this thread was dead. Last post may 2016, and most of the posters haven’t been around in almost as long.

Can you post a picture or three of your alternator with a ruler or tape measure, to allow seeing what size it is.

A lot of the mini trucks use a “mini-Denso” style, and they can be had at NAPA for fork lifts, etc., and on most of the racer places as a mini-Denso performance alternator. You can buy pig tails for all of them on amazon.

So, post up some pictures, and let’s see what you’ve got.

Oh wow, you just gave me some hope. I haven't got the alternator, it's at my buddies, he's taking a look at it for me but I'll have it this weekend, I'll def take some pics like you said and post them. Thanks a lot pal
