MITSI MINICAB PARTS 1991 AND ?

Discussion in 'Mitsubishi Minicab' started by TooManyProjects, Feb 1, 2021.

  1. These are some replacement parts I have found for my little rig.
    I have a 1991 Mitsi Minicab 4x4, 660cc, 4 speed manual trans.

    Ignition module (Amazon)
    Part# J153 $30.00 US

    Thermostat (NAPA Auto Parts)
    Part# 115 $6.00 US

Spark Plugs (anywhere, price will vary)
    Champion Plugs part# 71 RC12YC

    Ignition Coil (NAPA Auto Parts)
Part# IC105 $30.00 US (you will have to use the original bracket)

    Ignition Pickup Coil (Amazon)
    Part# E1929 $23.83 US

    Oil Filter (NAPA Auto Parts)
    Part# 1334 $5.00 US

Upper Radiator Hose (NAPA Auto Parts)
    Part# 8483 $18.00 US
(it is odd shaped, and will have to be cut to fit. Has all the right bends)

    Tachometer (Amazon)
Part# GS-T109 (has adjustment for 3 cylinder engines) $60.00 US

    Air Filter (NAPA Auto Parts)
Can't remember the part #, but it is for a 93 Ford Tempo (will have to be slightly modified to fit the air box)

I also was able to purchase and distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires from a seller on Ebay, NEW STOCK.
I believe it was around $65.00 US

I hope this helps someone. I have found, if you look long and hard enough, parts are able to be found. And for a reasonable price.

    Ignition Coil pin orientation:
The Napa part #IC105 has one vertical and one horizontal pin.
The 91 u42t wiring harness has two vertical pins.
The original part is a Diamond f-636
Is there a wiring harness switchover you know of?

Do you have a link for the Ignition Pickup Coil (Amazon) Part# E1929? I can't seem to find anything in the search for that part number

This information should be a sticky if it isn’t already, this helped me tremendously. Here’s a cross reference for the ignition coil listed. One pin needs moved on the factory connector but otherwise works fine.

Just hoping someone see this. My ignition coil is smoked causing a no spark. My ignition coal is a Diamond f-609 12v.
Is there anything anyone knows of that can cross with that ??
    TIA!

I’ve been using the Napa ic105 coil in the original post since December with no issues. You will have to move one of the wires to a different slot in stock coil connector but that’s pretty trivial if you have the ability to swap a coil out. If you don’t have a Napa I provided a cross reference one post above yours.

Thought I would add some info for anyone replacing valve seals on a 3g83 SOHC 12v. Got my valve seals from rockauto. Part is Elring 904.900. They seem to fit and seal good. Just did a partial rebuild of my cylinder head.
