Hey John, I didn't read every post on this but if you're looking for diff lock I think you could just swap rear axle's with a DD51T that has diff lock and you'd be all set, it's the exact same truck and diff lock was pretty easy to find on the 90s models.
I came across this thread on a UK daihatsu forum http://www.daihatsu-drivers.co.uk/node/12129 and this thread here http://184.172.194.66/~wheels12/wheels_forum/index.php?topic=119605.0 I have not phoned them myself but this might be what you are looking for http://www.phantomgrip.com/
I called Phantom grip and they sent me a diagram of the measurements they need. They also said they would need a photo of the differential and they would see if they had one on the shelf that matched the dimensions needed or make it from scratch. The starting price is $200 and went up depending on model of limited slip and type of diff.
For sure, A complete kit for a few hundred bucks could make a lot of guys happy. Especially for the front diff. I still say the Jamar is the way to go but, I'd check out videos to the contrary... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxxcCF8bWh8 ...
I am interested to know if you have a front limited slip for 94 carry. Or locker. Although I would rather have the limited slip. We have miles and miles and hundreds of miles of terrain like spanner shows in his video. A limited slip would save me some foot work hahaha. Thanx
Phantom grip will make the limited slip kit for you they just need your differential measurements as described in this diagram View attachment 12942 and a picture of your differential. They will then either match your dimensions to an existing off the shelf limited slip kit or build you one from scratch to match your specific differential dimensions.
The original guy who was hand making these stopped doing it. Most likely because people were being Aholes and debating its function instead of just moving on to something they like. Anyways, I just put in an inquiry to Phantom Grip so i will let yo know what I find.
I inquired about adding a locker conversion to my 95 carry DD51T from a company called Phantom Grip. Here is their response. "This model seems so similar to the DB series. Do you happen to have access to the differential? We just need some info from the diff to see which part # exactly it is. Let me know if you do have access to the diff and I can send you a spec sheet of what we need." There you have it. I am wondering if anyone has access to a differential out of one of our trucks where we could get part numbers? Any help would allow us guys without lockers to easily add them without buttons or air lines. If not I will take mine apart but was hoping someone here would have that information? Lets do this guys!
I'm wondering the same thing, any luck with Phantom Lock ??? This link shows they have a kit for the Carry !!!! https://phantomgrip.com/shop/suzuki...rry-every-f6a-motor-5-spd-k6a-le-da62t-db62t/
Traction concepts has kits on their website for most of the minitrucks. Dale, and KC, please go to the blue filed at the top of the page, and follow the dark blue link to add information on your rig to your signature. It really helps when folks need advice for your truck. Thanks, Jigs.
