After kicking off UTV's and making them legal over the last couple of yrs, it was on and off, you never new if you were legal until you got there. Crystal Beach south east of Houston,Tx and east of Galveston,Tx recently ruled for the use of UTV's on the beach. This includes mini trucks, mules, rangers ect. Its been a up hill fight for several yrs. to let folks continue to use Utility Vehicles on the beach. After the storm about 4 yrs. Crystal Beach was totally wiped out. People in southeast Texas love their beach and love to use their UTV's on the beach. So when everybody started rebuilding they went out and bought new UTV's & Golf carts. Well the county decided they were only going to let golf carts on the beach and make UTV's illegal. Enough people complained for a year and a half and pressure was applied to the county officials. They finally caved and ruled for the UTV's. So if you are hunting a beach to go to, slap on the slow moving triangle and get a beach pass and all utility vehicles & golf carts are legal now as of June 30 2012. Hopefully this new ruling will stay on the books.
