Any of you ever do one of these carbs? What a nightmare, mainly the choke apparatus. Like a rubics cube putting the thing back together. Mine would never act the same twice in a row so I decided to go through it, the accelerator pump jet was clogged and even after 1/2 hour in the ultrasonic cleaner. Finally got it cleared by sucking backward through it with a mighty vac.
Done one , spent a bunch of time with cleaning it and all the passages, replaced everything I could get was under $100 to my door for all OEM parts . Took a ton of pictures Was a mess , was loaded with varnish as it sat in japan for sometime . Would idle great but would fall on its face and spudder and die at more then a 1/3 throttle Ran like a dream when done . Working on it made me want to add a Subaru Van to my stable
