Has anyone checked to see if the engine parts of these engines are the same? Rings,Bearings, valves, etc.
This is good new for me as I am opening my landscaping business later this year. If I buy the appropriate mower, I could keep spare parts/plugs for both engines. Thanks for the info. Does this apply to all brands, or to Mitsubishi only?
Can anyone verify this Honda makes Mits mini truck link? I saw this info while looking to see which vans have mid or rear engines. It says that the Mitsubishi mincab is manufactured by honda. http://www.kei-cars.com/index_files/mitsubishi_minicab.htm anyone care to comment? R
It's just bad info on a bad site. I guess they can say anything they want. If you notice under description it says the mits is avail in RWD or AWD. Then under specifications it says avail in FWD or AWD. It also says the engine is a 5V I3. And yeah, mits was the first to develop the 5V engine - but don't think it was put in the trucks just cars. So No Mits is not made by Honda. later, slim
On a related note to the Toro engine information I found a Canadian winding manufacturer that makes alternators for the 3G83, Wilson Windings. https://ws1.wilsonautoelectric.com/ec03/part.php?part=90-29-5472 The actual mits part number for the alternator MD166662 is referenced in their cross reference list. Also of interest is the cross reference to other manufacturers. I'm going to try and use one of their distributors to get one of the alternators and I'll let you all know how it turns out. OL
re mitsubishi alternators i noticed that it said 1994 and up on that web page. Do you know if those would work on my '92 minicab it has the 3G83 in it? thanks R
Help! I've got a '93 Mitzy. I bought an engine book and finally found out the spark plug numbers. I bot the plugs but the spark plug tool was not in the vehicle. So far I have not found a wrench to remove the plugs. Is there a source where I can buy the plug wrench. There's a cute picture of the plug wrench on the valve cover but no wrench. Also, I have just now found out the oil filter number but would like to change the air filter and the gas filter (if it has one). One of my more urgent needs is a thermostat. Vehicle barely gets off cold and blows luke warm air on defrost and heat. Needs: spark plug wrench air filter number or source gas filter number or source thermostat
FIND TORO parts ....compatible? I just talked to a mechanic at a lawn tracktor service company. Their guys have worked on the 3G83 engines they gave me this link to look for parts for that engine. It looks pretty solid. It's the Toro master viewer parts search page. the guy I talked to said the workman 3200 series has the 3G83 engine and the toro engine or part reference number is 07202 here's the link maybe some others can verify. https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro the drawings for the fuel filter and fule pump look just like on my van. let me know if this stuff looks like its gonna work.
funny dejavu Wow that's funny I read this thread before which was what got me looking for toro parts. but I never came back to the thread til getting the info locally about toro stuff. thanks Slim. Does anyone have any new parts from toros they have tried on their mits? R
look under the thread cheap oil filters the FRAM one fit my 92 bravo minicab perfect. NAPA Makes one too. R
Numbers I have found for '93 Mitzy: Oil filter: Wix 51356, NAPA 1356 I had the Fram # but can't locate it Thermostat: NAPA #15 not zactly but fits and works, good luck finding the gasket. Mine now has a generous dollop of blue silicone. I still desperately need a spark plug wrench without having to grind my own. Does anyone know where I can buy an original Mitsubshi wrench?
if you can't a gasket you can always make one out of gasket stock or even out of the cardboard from a cereal box...i have done this a few times and it works great!!
Same wrench that come with motorcycles and some chain saws. Check your local motor cyle shop and take you sparkplug to get the right size.
The Fram # is 6607. this is the one i have on my truck now and there is a cross # to a motorcycle filter # for sport bikes which might be better for these high rev engines. the NAPA filter is good too...used it last year wyatt
3g82 Part numbers Hey there, I just wanted to state that the 3g82 (800cc) is starting to look more and more like the 3G81/3G83 but with a different stroke. Here's some part numbers I have. I hope they're the same as the ones you use for your engines. Distributer Cap: Made by Century PN:MD611669 Plugs: NGK BP5ES Timing belt: Dayco 1Q2-102Y/19 (that number didn't google me anywhere though) Hope this helps someone someday. I have a rebuild kit, piston rings, valve seals... and a bunch of other junk that I'll add to this someday. Does any of this jive with your 3G83?
Replacement engines On the Vanguard site there are also diesels, boy wouldn't that be a kick! Out comes the measuring tape again.... Bill
I bought the fuel filter for my 92 bravo minicab but I nor my regular mechanic could find where the inline fuel filter goes. Anyone got an idea where it is. I can't see anything on my engine that looks like a fuel filter. Could this be because it's turbo and fuel injected...thus no filter? I'm just guessing at this point.
Fuel filter location Mine is on the driver's side, right behind the cab...traced the fuel line. I have an in line plastic filter and some other unidentifiable "filter thing" near each other. Bill
Fuel filter location OOPS! I'm sorry, I don't have a Bravo. Mine is a truck. I would still trace the lines to the tank. i hope you don't have an in-tank filter!
minitruckcentral has a breakdown of the vans on their site. http://www.minitruckcentral.com/resources/MTC+U11T$7EU19T+84.06$7E90.11.pdf
Toro #'s Cap 92-2114 Rotor 92-2113 Plugs 92-2153 (NGK BRK6E-11) Numbers were good in the book from 91 up to 97 at least. Bill
dead link hey Dan the link you provided is dead....any way to find a working link again? http://www.minitruckcentral.com/resources/MTC+U11T$7EU19T+84.06$7E90.11.pdf thanks R
