So I just installed a set of front struts on my 98 diahatsu hijet. I installed a set for a 2012 hyundai veolster.
I got then thru ebay 300 bucks four shocks, Nice adjustable gas shocks n struts 250lb rating.
the coil over struts allow for adjustment of ride height of the front end and i have mine set at 2.5 inches
and they are not binding the cv joints. the seller on ebay is Maxpeedingrosd-ca good parts seller fast shipping free. I had to a couple of mods like the upper mount plate, i had the relocate holes and trim some off of the plate.
On the right side the cv axle hit the bottom of the strut mount but had to cut about a 1/4'' notch relief
i hit the trails for a test run nice smooth ride now no bottoming out. I just thought I would throw this out there
in case anyone doesnt want to spend the 900. bucks for stock front struts. I think I can use the rear coil overs
without the springs as they are gas adjustable also.. cant beat the deal replace all 4 shocks for 300 bucks.
    thanks all.. Paco

Do you have any photos of the install?

Hey Jigs, no I did not take pics of the install. But I can post some of the after install. I think it worked out pretty slick. Yesterday afternoon I gave it what I call a poor mans alignment with a tape measure, 24'' level to set the toe and camber. set the toe to 1/8'' toe in. I am running 25x8x12 front and 25x10x12 rears 6ply rated 720lbs ea.
just drained both diffs, transfer case and trans and replaced with full synthetic 75/90wt oil. Also changed engine oil to full synthetic 5w40 Mobile 1 oil
I an having problems figuring out the choke system on the carb the choke is not closing when cold even if i hit the gas pedal to set the choke when stone cold first thing in the morning. i have been reading the treads on here but looks like others are having problems too. Anyway I'll get the wife to post some pictures on here from my phone so you can see the results of an old tool and die makers hack for these mini truck front struts n springs fix. Later... Paco

I'm liking what you did! What you call a poor mans alignment is better than nothing at all! I've done the same in the past on several occasions. Works great! My rule of thumb: If I'm using it off road, mainly lower speeds, no problem! If I'm gonna road it daily, so to speak, at higher speeds, I'll get a true alignment, from someone who does it everyday! Depends on the vehicle, and the application! Great job!

The choke is run with a wax motor and is different from any other one I’ve ever dealt with. It doesn’t engage/disengage like any of the bimetallic chokes you may be used to.

The wax motor controls the idle up cam, and the tension of the choke blade directly. It sets the throttle position, and varies the spring load on the choke blade.
