Just curious... Seems like most of y'all are in Canada where these are street legal. Here in Idaho, I have mine sort of legal, and have been driving it for the last week. Put on a little over 100 miles so far so and havent run a full tank of gas through it yet, but if the gauge is any indication I don't think I'm getting any better than 30 mpg, probably more like under 20. I wasnt really expecting the claimed 50 mpg since I'm driving it pretty much at 45mph the whole time and the engine is just screaming, but it seems low to me. SO- what kind of mileage are you all getting?

Next question- How much do you use your truck? Is it just for messing around town or back roads once a week, or does anyone put 100+ miles on them in a week? What kind of driving do you do? Anyone traveling longer distances at high speeds frequently? I'm just worried that driving this little truck regularly with the pedal to the floor the entire time might be a little hard on it...

Mine is a daily driver. I've put on 6000km so far this summer and will be using it a lot more soon as winter takes away scooter and bike weather.

Drove it 1500KM from Calgary to Winnipeg, 500KM round-trip to cottage country, 400KM on another road trip, and not afraid to take it on the highways closer to town.

Needs a valve job, but no problems so far.

There are millions of these trucks on the road around the world. Use it, maintain it, enjoy it.

As for your milage problem - do the full Seafoam treatment and you WILL notice a difference! I get 40mpg city & highway from my little beasty.

My mileage definitely goes down on the highway. I seafoamed the truck and put on a new less restrictive muffler and K&N airfilter. Also, since there are different gallons numbers could be misleading. I get 40mpg in town and 30 mpg highway using 4 liters per gallon for easy to me figuring. I have put 20,000km on my truck in the last 2 years. I will hit 90K this weekend on the 250km drive to my cabin. Loving the truck and I have a second I have to sell (pm me!) don't have room for 2!!! A few of the ranchers that I have sold trucks to claim anywhere from 25 to 35 mpg. Depends on driving conditions. My guys in west Texas have 5k to 25k acres and drive on dirt roads. They never get into 5th gear if it has one.
That 50 mpg is like buying swamp land in Florida. There might be a few out there that do it but everything has to be perfect, engine/humidity/octane ect.

:DI have been driving mine for a long time on road from +35c to -40c. I have never seen any better than 30mpg. Usually around 22-25mpg. I drive it like I stole it though!!! I once got 150mpg with it but that is when it was idling on the trailer I was towing it on:D
Enjoy it You will never own another vehical that will give you more smiles per gallon!

2ooo miles or so so far, wind resistance is what eats the mileage. Lots better mileage at 45 than at 55 or 65 mph! Mid 30s for me at 55

I put about 6-7000 km per year on my Hijet...I use it as a truck and am generally hauling junk around...when driven hard in the city I get around 30 mpg...same as on the highway...driven gently around town I get around 35 mpg.(using 4l per gallon as a conversion) on long 80-90 kph drives I have hit the magic 50mpg a few times, but generally 40 to 45 mpg ...it will depend on your driving style.....if you drive gently and get into top gear by 50kph you can easily increase your mpg by 50%...the trucks have around 45hp so there's nothing to prove by driving the snot out of it,as everything on the road can beat you..yeah I wind it up sometimes because it's a hoot to drive like a lunatic ...but I generally baby my stuff...I actually used to wax my hotwheels, so I'm a tad off my feed:p:D

I have a sales brochure for the 00' S210P and the 03' S210P. These are EFI engines.

2000 = 43 hp for the single cam (EF-SE) and 48 for the twin cam (EF-VE) engines.

2003 = 45 hp for the single cam and 50 hp for the twin cam.

These ratings were all at 5,900 rpm and the engines were actually rated in kW in the brochures!

I can get 40mpg out on the highway but I'm doing it with no wind, 13" rims at about 85 kmph on the dial and I run premium. I got over 50mpg once but there was a scarey tail wind; PA to St.Walburg for about $15. Gravel roads, rain, bad gas (more common than you think) all fool with mileage.

Oh forgot, my jumbo has 104,000 ks on it. I bought it from D&D in PA Sask with about 70,000 ks on it. D&D put a used motor in this spring. Not the fault of the truck just personal stupidity. Its a daily driver.

  14. My butt dyno tells me its around 40 hp..ha, ran thru the first tank in only 70 km. It hadn't been driven in over two years tho and the oil was real dirty. Changed the oil and filter so i won't know my mileage until this next tank runs out..I was real surprised when i ran in up to the station and was able to fit 5.5 gal in it! 15720 on the clock now...
