A Local dealer has an ACTY van and SAMBAR van for sale, both similar priced 5speed 660cc vans, relatively close mileage. Is there any specific pros/cons to either? Thanks in advance for any info!

Sambar is 4 cylinder, rear engine, non-interference engine. just make sure its the switch 4WD version not the AWD version, see if its EFI supercharged or carb as well

Late to the party and more of a FYI now
Having worked on both the Subaru’s and the Honda’s the Subaru is a bunch more accessible for working on . Honda has the motor in the middle ( before the rear axle ) and they have a floor whole floor they could have made removable, they made more or less a peephole to tease you with.
I’m pretty sure they never wanted anyone to work on it as nothing is easy to check
Oil ? Reach thru the pass side wheel well , try to keep the dirt, mud water salt and other nasties out , add coolant? Take the lower part of the glove box off with screws then a little plastic cover and then a wing bolt to remove the metal plate , now your at the radiator cap .
Honda’s great little vans and trucks but a fighter to lift its petty coat for consensual services
