Picked up my 2nd Kei truck a few months ago - (here's my first Sambar Dump Truck thread)

This time a 1990 HA2 Acty Van. Bought via carused.jp and shipped to Savannah. Got my TWIC card and it was much more smooth from past experiences.

In Japan - a few dents in the pics - but with very low KMs.

Had fun tracking it across the ocean, through the canal and up to Savannah

Cleaned up nicely with just a few rusty spots.

Shuttled a bunch of folks around one day.

Might almost fit in the back of the Tundra

Taking it to Caffeine and Octane too. Thought I might put it up for sale, but for now having some fun. Next up is a set of knobbys to see what we can do off road.

Trying to get my rear seat to lay flat but the plastic pull thing on the top passenger side is broken. I’m guessing this was attached to a lever or tab inside the seat to get it to go down? How can I get it to lay flat?

Nice van. Wow was that thing dirty when you got it from port.

I took mine down to Caffeine and Octane Feb 2023. It was a big hit back then as I'm sure yours was. It was before they moved to the new location and started charging for spots.

I wonder if its like the pulls for door locks and just has to screw on there? I know on my Every van its that way. It just screws onto a rod down in there.

Yeah I can't seem to fish out that rod?

It had a solid layer of topsoil and crud, but cleaned up nice! I've taken it to the Japanese showcase theme day at C&O and yes, it was popular too. Unfortunately GA won't let me tag it. Does yours have a tag?

Yeah, in NC they passed legislation to make them legal to title and tag and run on the streets. Not supposed to take em on interstates but thats crazy talk anyway. I took backroads from Charlotte to Atlanta and it took about 5 hours instead of 3.5 to get down there via interstates. It was longer but a much more enjoyable drive cause almost no traffic until I hit the burbs of Atlanta.
