Fuel Filter

The second last time I drove my MiniCab, I noticed it bogging quite a bit on acceleration. Logically, I figured it was likely a fuel delivery problem -= either plugged filter, or bad fuel pump.
When I got it into the shop to inspect. I noticed the fuel filter was one of the old clear plastic see through ones, and it looked fine, but decided it was time to change it anyway, so I took it off.
Even though it looked good, when I tried to blow through it, it took quite a bit of pressure. - So I took a new metal bodied filter I had, and found that you could easily blow through it.
Obviously (at least to me) the old one had become clogged with varnish, even though it looked good.
Anyway, with. .the new filter, it seems to be back to running fine.
So - as the old saying goes, "looks can be deceiving".
