Im in need for front Struts for my 1998 Daihatsu Hijet S110P..Im not paying $500 for them.there has to be a replacement that will work.anybody know....?? I just replaced springs with 250 Blue ones.and 2 inch lift.Great ride..but when in fields.where its rough..I still bottom out alot.My struts are bad,I think..I can pull them out but hard and slow..but they push in way easier ! would that be faulty? I tried to order over seas.but got message back today...As of now the shipping rate has went through the roof!..they cant ship anymore.
I see where some may have used KYB 232020 , and Monroe 71805 for 87 Chevy Sprint/pontiac firefly....has anyone used these..and will they work with the springs.
OK..Just called G&R Imports from Jackson Mo..they told me for my 1998 Daihatsu Hijst 4x4 S110P new struts were $150 each!! and $20 shipping for both..wow..that is a deal...I cant go wrong there..I was just quoted from another dealer in Texas..$550 for used.and $1100 for new from Japan...no way would I even pay that..So if this helps anyone else..call G&R 885-484-8342 Thanks everyone..
Have you checked Rock Auto? I got a set for my 89 for Rock Auto in England for much less than that including freight. Go to rock Auto site and click on British flag to get to listings for Daihatsu.
Hi guys I'm new.. I have a hijet. S200 model and it's hard to find struts for them are new and reasonably priced.. Was wondering if anyone ever tried a replacement strut or tried coilovers.
I googled with Daihatsu hijet S200 struts and this online shop in the UK has some options, check that out for fitting https://www.euspares.co.uk/parts-catalog/shock-absorber-10221/daihatsu/hijet/hijet-pickup-1998 but these are for the EURO version DAIHATSU Hijet Pickup S200, 1.3 ltr engine, 48 KW / 65 PS from 1998
There’s an owner using 1988 Toyota Corolla coil overs on FaceBook. Clearly these weren’t cheap as they’re anodized and adjustable for height and dampening. Appears to work with little to no modifications according to the owner. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1491121737584558/?ref=share
Here’s what I did on my new struts! I wiped them down with acetone, masked of the parts I didn’t want to paint, using VHT High temp paint, I applied 3 coats let sit for 24 hrs and then using VHT High Temp Clear coat applied 2 coats and let sit for 24 hrs to protect from rock chips. The same with the brake caliper and rotors but used VHT caliper cleaner, caliper paint and clear coat. I have found out of all the aerosol paints I have used that VHT and Eastwoods paints spray the best and don’t run or drip. You get what you pay for! Don’t cut a corner to save .50 cents because you won’t be happy in the long run.
