I looked through a bunch of threads and didnt see anything so here goes...

What are the opinions on the 550cc engines?
    Parts availability ?

    I found a 1988 Suzuki Carry today.
90,000 km - Good shape inside and out... no rust to speak of.
    Everything is tight and works
4 speed, axle lock, differential lock, hi / low ranges.
Painted camo, no lift, stock tires.

Idled a little high at first , had a dead spot in accelerator... but after warming up, it ran fine. I drove it about 20 minutes around the gravel lot..shut off and started back up several times...

I can get the truck for $3,000.

    What do you guys think?

Parts are harder to come by. That would be about the only reason that I can think of to get the 660 over the 550. Beyond that, it sounds like a great truck to make into a hardcore offroader. I'd try to offer a price a little under the $3k, as I like to try to haggle on price when I can, but wouldn't run from it at that price.

    Thanks for the info...

The truck started out at 3,500, I offered 3,000 for it and that is as low as it goes.....

Sounds like a pretty good deal. And with the price difference of the dumps you were looking at, you can always get a dump bed kit (if you wanted one), ATV wheels and tires, and still be money ahead. Decisions, decisions!

I'd still buy it at $3k, if it's in excellent condition.
