1994 660 daihatsu oil filter threads

Does anyone know the true thread size of the oil filter on a 94 hijet. Some say 3/4 inch and others say 20 x 1.5 mm. If the wrong filter is put on the engine it will only cause problems. Has anyone checked with the factory on filter numbers? Mine has a Denso # 115010-6330 with Daihatsu # 15601-97202 on the engine now. I can't find any sites that will cross this to any other brand. Can anyone else cross this or help with thread size. thanks ray allen, Oklahoma

 

Found today..1994 Daihatsu 660 oil threads are 20 x 1.5 mm....filter is Wix 51365 or Balwin b1400. This info is from crossroads truck sales in Mo. Glad they had their phone # in this forum. Also on a Daihatsu 1989 550 the filter is 3/4 x 16 thread and uses a Wix 51394. This is from a cross using the Japanese filter shipped on the truck with numbers ...15601-87204 on the filter. I don't think you can inter change the 550 and 650 oil filters. ray allen, Oklahoma I WOUND UP USING THE WIX 51394 FILTER. THE 20 X 1.5 MM WAS TO LARGE ON THE THREAD SIZE. RAY ALLEN

Contact dealer of hijet. I think from dealer you will get right answer because I have done search about this but no one know the exact size.

 

2003 Hijet oil filter...

I can say for certain that my 2003 Hijet takes a Wix 51394 or Hastings LF410.

My '93 and '94 (Japanese, RS drive, 4x4, 660s) both use NAPA 1360.

I've had these two nearly identical trucks for 4 years and have always used this oil filter.

I had to do some research because most of the filters they sell here in Arizona are not listed in this sticky. I found that for My S83 (which I believe is also a mid 90's Hi-jet) the Wix brand cross references with Fram PH 6607 which also crosses with the supertech from wal-mart at just over $2 a pop (the cheapest i found) and the STP S6607 which is only $5 (best value I could find) and is made with the same internals as the $13 K&N filters check valve and all.

 

Sorry folks, Trying to find some info. I need to buy an oil filter for my 1998 Daihatsu S110p. I'm in Canada, so a lot of these part numbers don't help. Any suggestons??

I have 2 1992 s80lp's. I am pretty sure they both have the 550 carburretted engines. They have purolator 14610 oil filter with m20x1.5 threads. Previous owner had replaced the original one with these, he said they were a little bit taller than the original filter. Workin fine so far. Hope this helps.

got this filter last night canadians can tire 17-1853-6 thought great a long filter get a bit more oil. unfortunately it will not clear the cross brace under the engine and transmission on my truck. truck is a 95 s110p 5 speed with ac and a 3 way dump. just a heads up to check and see if you have clearance for a taller filter before you purchase one.

 

Hey ttc, given that the l14610 is longer than the stock, I started to look for the right filter as I have to change them on both of my trucks soon. I came up with the L14459 which is about 3" tall. I crossed referenced this with an oem Daihatsu number. This should be a factory sized replacement oil filter. Hope this helps anyone out there.

 

For anyone with a 1995 Hijet s110p truck with EF-ES engine (mine has 4wd and automatic transmission), O'Reilly auto parts in Pullman WA happened to carry a MicroGard MGL51394 oil filter that seems to be an near perfect fit. Photos attached. Maybe search for similar/compatible oil filters for that particular year and engine if you're in the US.

Also attached photos of the old and new filters side by side. The internal hole measurement that I got with a caliper was 0.68", and the new filter was 0.69", so it's not exactly 3/4" like I've been reading. Exterior diameter of the old filter was 2.625" across and it was 2.5" tall but I don't think the height matters much since it's got a ton of clearance.

 

I used a Fram ph4967 in my 1995 Hijet.

Ive been using Toyota 4age, 3s, 3tc and many other longer bigger filters for better capacity and filtration
than original filters which are harder to get, more expensive and dont filter as good as the larger longer filters.
They are only 25-30% longer and 30-35% more capacity. I get them for a fiver which is halve the price of the
original smaller units and change oil every 5000km as well to keep engine healthy and sludge free.

 

Has anyone used this K&N filter for a 1994 Hijet? I just bought one at my local AutoZone. I'd like to buy local before I purchase online. Thanks!
