    Hello all!

I wanted to pass along a 14" wheel and tire combo that's working great on my stock height '92 Acty. I have NO idea what the wheel application is from-they were on the truck when I bought it. No problems to report, either.

    WHEELS:
    14x5.5" with a +35mm offset

    TIRES:
    165/65R14 Federal SS657

NOTE: I apologize for the double post on this info. My computer hiccuped during the building of the previous thread and I thought all was lost.

I use basically the same thing on my Carry. 155/65/14 Nokian Hakkapalita R2 on some cheap Raceline 14x5.5" +35mm rims. The tire size is basically equal in diamater to a 145R12 so pretty much fit any Kei truck without question ( dual bolt pattern wheels )

Nokian does not make the R2 anymore and the size is depleted stock. Current stock is the Hakkapalitta 8 studded and the Nordman 7 studded. Aside from some cheap stuff, it's really the only option. Veredestine does make the Quadrac 5 in 165/65/14

Just out of interest I checked here in Japan the online shop of one of the largest tire shops, I usually order there
165/65R14 : besides the cheap Nankang from China most of the offers are for Bridgestone , Dunlop, EMI Zero, here you can see all the tire profiles and approx prices in Yen, per tire from approx $25 - > 120, plus shipping within Japan.
    Vredestein is not sold here.

No offense those are all junk except the continental. I work at a tire shop and some of those are laughable

I agree 100%, Matt167, that most of them are not of Continental level quality.

But I cannot justify the expense of top shelf tires for what my truck will be used for.
The Federals I bought mounted great, balanced with tiny weights, ride fantastic and did great in the rain the other day.

Mine and my wife's daily drivers?
    That's a different story.
They get great tires that last what seems like forever.
    I'm religious about rotating them.

It actually matters more on a smaller tire.. Cheap tires are not round, in general. Federal tires are not bad, but I personally would have spent the extra $40 on the Continental, or a bit more on the Vredestein Quatrac 5 https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...idewall=Blackwall&partnum=665TR4QT5&tab=Sizes . If your driving on the road at 55mph or better

My Nokians were $63, round as can be and no lateral runout as most Nokians are, considering a $40-50 difference it would actually be worth it to have a better tire

    Hey Everyone,

This thread is awesome but also confusing lol. I keep seeing wheels of 14X6 and 15X8 but ALL OF THEM are with 0 offset so I'm seriously shocked you're able to get +35 on 14 wheels without a veritable shitton of poke haha. Can you guys post some pics so I can get an idea?

    @matt167 @shogun

    Thanks fellas!

here some info on wheels, ET, tires, lug nuts, hub size etc from robrobinette:

Tires: Stock tires are LT145/80R12 6 ply radial (Light Truck 21.2" diameter, 145mm section width, 80 profile, 12 inch diameter wheel rim) and optional 155/70R13 (21.5")
Nankang CX668 155/80R12 (21.8" diameter), wear rating 440, M+S (mud & snow rated) $35 each on Amazon, $259 for 4 at Discount Tire installed, fit and drive great on the stock 12" wheels. I put these on my truck and I really like them for highway use.
Bridgestone 604V RD-604 145R12 6PR fit the stock 12 inch wheels are $369 for four delivered from ebay.
Sun F All 22x7x12 off road tires fit stock wheels Amazon $61 each shipped.
Tractor Style Tires: 6x12 Carlisle Tru Power and Farm Specialist R1 23x6x12 (my favorite off-road tire) fit the stock 12" wheels Amazon $65 each.
Wheels: Stock are 4x100 lug pattern, 12x3.5" (12 inch wheel diameter and 3.5 inch width) or 13x4", 56.1mm center bore hole
The stock wheels have 100mm (3.9") of backspacing and with stock tires have about 1" clearance to the coil springs.
Wheel Adapter: Allows more common 4x114.3 wheels to be fitted. Four 1" (25mm) thick Wheel Adapter Spacers 4x100 to 4x114.3 with M12x1.5 lugs, Amazon $58. These adapters add 1 inch of positive offset and 1" backspacing.
With 1" 4x114.3 adapter, 14x7 +13 offset Fuel Maverik wheels and 23x9.5x14 inch tires fit.
14x6 +30 offset with 175/65/14 tires fit with no lift and no rubbing.
Lug Nuts: M12x1.5 (12mm at 1.5 threads per mm) available from Amazon (search: M12x1.5 lug nuts)
2 inch Lift Kit: Available for $200 on ebay allows the use of larger diameter wheels and tires but also raises the vehicle's center of gravity making it even more prone to tip over. The kit has 2 inch spacers to lower the front struts. In the rear a 4 inch longer spring leaf mount is used on one end of the leaf springs for 2 inches of lift. A 3 inch lift kit is available but extensive modifications must be done to make it fit and it is not recommended.

    Hi Mo,
    — thanks for the info. Does your wheel combination require fender flares to cover tread pattern? I use my '92 Acty on street and tires cannot extend beyond body (or flates.)

So looking at del sol wheels, is anyone having issues with the 14x6 wheels or have them? i assume the extra half inch wont make a huge difference, and adds tiny bit more contact to road. My concern is tire size, finding some 185/60/14 tires stock ride height (lets just assume good suspension health, is that tire size compatible in these?

  16. It’s tough because that .5 inch might be too much and you will hit the spring/strut in the front. It may be fine if the offset is slightly lower vs the Honda civic wheels I run. I run the 14x5.5 Hx wheels which just barely touch in the fronts but I run a 4mm spacer to give me some breathing room. But if it’s the same offset as the Hx wheels with a wider rim your going to touch the spring and have to run like a 15mm spacer and it’s going to poke and look silly.

How are they in winter? I plan to drive some in winter too but I saw stock wheels aren’t good in snow so I definitely want bigger. But those are valid points for the extra .5 inch I have some sources so I will go through these posts and find what’s bugged without rubbing issues and get some it’s. 92 sdx it gets unloaded off the truck into my driveway tomorrow excited as hell

also, center bore an issue? having a time trying to find tires with right 14 x 5.5 with correct center bore. i want basic steelies or something simple design i dont plan to ake it a show truck or anything like that
