Alternator failed replacement is slightly different

My Suzuki alternator 31400-65h30 failed and I cannot rebuild it. I ordered one and they sent me a 31400-76h11. It’s almost exactly the same except for the connector plug. OEM was 3pin, new in 4pin. It will Mount right up and go round, but I’m not sure if I’ll damage the system if I run it with only 3 wires connected through a spliced 4pin connector. I would be able to accommodate the three wires on my harness , but would not hook up the white/green altctrl wire. Is this doable? Does anyone have experience with this? I had a hell of a time finding the oem alternator in the states.

thanks for any help you can give.

Jigs -N-Fixtures did a good reply about 4 wire alternators in the Daihatsu section (or New Posts!) A search there might help you... the fourth wire is for the dash idiot light according to him.
