Hello, first time on any forum, just bought my first Sambar a couple days ago and have big plans for it, but it would be nice to have an English service manual for it to get parts. Anyone out there have a PDF version of one they would mind sharing? Thanks Jake
Hi Jake, Try this.... http://www.lulu.com/shop/james-dank...service-manual/paperback/product-3912561.html
I have all the official English manuals but in physical form, if you want a picture.of any pages in particular lmk
Here's a link to get part numbers: http://subaru.epc-data.com/sambar/ And I have a link to downloadable pdfs of the service manual but the site seems to be down. It was working fine recently so it may be a temporary server issue. I'll post it if it starts working again. Edit: Sweet, it's back online. Download each chapter individually here. http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/--Old Models--/Subaru Sambar KS-KV English Service Manual/
Thanks for this link! Just what I've been looking for. 94 Subaru Sambar Dias Classic. Tranny problems. Actually working ok when cold and once it heats up, won't go past 3rd and keeps jumping back and forth between gears.
Just keep in mind that the manual by James Danko is really only good for the 1990 and early 1991 models. The further you get away from those years, the less and less useful it gets.
By "newer" I assume you mean the 6th gen models (1999-2012)? If so, then refer to my comment in the thread that asked this same question last week: https://minitrucktalk.com/threads/99-sambar-service-manual-source.24737/
Sorry, I should have clarified–I was actually referring to your earlier comment here that "James Danko is really only good for the 1990 and early 1991 models. The further you get away from those years, the less and less useful it gets." which I have definitely found to be true for my (5th gen) 1998 KV4 with an EN07F (EFI but no SC)
Either way, that is the only english language manual that currently exists, regardless of its accuracy or suitability. I did buy a full set of japanese manuals for both 5th and 6th gens, and I am happy to look things up for people as needed.
Would your manuals indicate what kind of transmission fluid to use for my 1998 KV4? I believe it has a 3AT not the earlier CVT, but I'm having a hard time finding info about this newer transmission and the procedure/volumes/quantities for replacing the fluid? Thanks!
The 3AT models use regular old Dextron/Mercon style ATF. Page 178 of the owners manual indicates that it takes 3.8l for 2WD models, and 4.2l for 4WD models. The replacement interval is every 40,000km. Here is a link to the 1997/1998 owners manual if your van did not come with a copy: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qtMd_CR5-jRXfI5H9W9A0R-AT8YsNEX4/view?usp=sharing
