From 1010tires.com As far as I know the Kei trucks have positive offset [same as a FWD car] being that the trucks come Japan the correct way to measure the offset of the rim is in mm. i.e. The stock rims on my Sambar are +40 mm and the 14x5.5" Kia rims I have on are + 45mm. You might want to start a fresh thread in the Diahatsu forum for further questions as it gets awful confusing mixing brands
IMO It should be fine. 23 = O.D. of tire in inches 8.50 = Width of tread in inches 12 = Rim size in inches So by going to 23 8.00 x 12 from 23 8.50 x 12 you will be giving up 1/2" of tread width but all else should be the same
From what I'm reading, the actual stock rim width is 7", but that 8/10/11" tread widths will be fine because the tire sidewall will bend in to where the bead seats, right? Also- I see where guys are running 8 or 9" tread up front and 10s or 11s in the rear, is that to avoid tire rub up front?
Just for simple input, I bought some Datsun B210 wheels and am running 13" tires. Wheels were much less expensive than custom aluminums and I have no clearance problems. Luckily, here in South Dakota we can run on the street everywhere except the Interstates.
