Hello, I just bought my first mini after researching and looking around for about a year. I ended up finding DD51T for a good price and in very good condition. The only feature that I wish it had was diff lock. The truck will be used to do work around my house and on the trails at our hunting property. I've come across the limited slip conversion diff from Traction Concepts. I've found a couple of threads that mention the installation of this product but no real reviews on the performance. Can anyone comment on how this LSD conversion performs vs locking diff on muddy trails? Looking forward to all the projects in my future with this new toy! Thanks!
When I was in the buying process of a mini-truck, I looked at their LSD kit. I finally was able to get a truck with stock diff-lock so I was set. One guy here installed that thing, forgot his name, but he never came back to report on its utility. You can use the E-brake to simulate a diff-lock. I suggest you drive around and find the limits of what the truck can do if you haven't done so already and see if you really need one. Here is a video you may find useful:
SB, Welcome, looks like your about 2 hours south west of me. My oldest Son, who lives out of town, hunts with his good friend during the fall, who lives somewhere near you! They are getting ready for a trophy Bow hunt out west, shortly, in a Trophy area! I wish I could tell you more about the Limited Slip, but I agree with SAITCHO, he pretty much covered it! Good luck! Post pics! Limestone
Thanks for the replies, guys. Yep, probably will just play around with it for a while and see if I have a real need for it. It's currently still on the trailer making its way back home from buying it, haha. Limestone - I bet your son's excited about that trip! Sounds awesome.
