I haven't found a way to cheat the front drive line. Some people say you can slide the front end back and then adjust the length of the bars that hook to the arms.......I haven't found that to be true, unless you use 4 bolts on each side for your drop blocks. when you drop the the arms, you bolt the block to the frame in the original holes and then slide the front end back till the drive line is where its supposed to be and drill new holes and bolt on the A arm bracket then lengthen the bars that hook to the A arm and go foreword. Or.....you can see if a drive line shop will cut and lengthen the front drive line, or do like I am and make a spacer that will go in between the drive line and front diff......Hahaha good luck!!! Remember to drop the diff as much as the lift. On mine I found that I could drip the front of the diff 2 inches less than the rear and gain 2 inches of ground clearance without the cv binding or clicking. They do however click at full turn with my plow on the truck. But that is due to the size and weight of it hahaha. Custom made 94 inch plow hahaha
How did ya fix the drive line? Soon as it warms up to neg 10 im going to put a hockey puck in at the front diff. That should be the perfect length and ill be able to move the diff forword again
Nice build.... can you expand on how the 6" longer struts came about.. Thanks COOLs Project ...2006 Carry DFW TEXAS
It does look good. Where did ya get the struts from? I was thinking of using longer struts and trim the spring perch so the smaller diameter spring fits then remembered I have a 5 inch offset on my wheels. I can use full diameter strut out of just about any rig with the same mounts. On your rear shackles you made........did you add anything between the two halves to keep them from twisting? I used box steel. I have pics if ya want to look at how i did anything on mine. I have about 7.5 inches of lift. Never had to mess with pitman arm or tierods or any of that. Just need to stretch my front drive line still hahaha
So can you fab up everything and sell your lift as a bolt on kit for somewhere around $400-$500? This is what we are missing on the "accessory" page of every mini truck website.
Im looking for some info on putting a 6" or bigger lift on my Suzuki Carry. I saw some info. on this site, but cant find it anymore. Any help i would appreciate it.
I can't get the pics to open! I was thinking of using the complete front end from a 97 Metro to not only do the lift but give me much better brakes!
