I need struts for my 2000 Carrry. Ive found them on line for 225.00 each...OUCH...I wonder if they are the same as another vehicle that an auto parts store might carry. JP
Strut problem is often fixed with just new springs The price is pretty good at only 225 each. I am not aware of any struts that are available in an auto parts store. If your struts aren't broken, or leaking you might only need a new set of springs.
Did you ever find a replacement strut that worked in your carry. I want struts with smaller diameter springs for tire clearance. The newer carries used a large spring for a while. I would like to convert mine over to a uniform diameter spring.
On the CarryVan springs - They used a spring that was even all the way from top to bottom and a spring that tapered. Don't know which was early or late in the model run. I have a 2002 and it has springs that are uniform (straight ) from top to bottom. I think that the strut was somewhat different too as the spring seat is part of the strut. As far as interchangeability - one might check out such offerings as the Pontiac Firefly or the Chevy/Geo Metro as a possibility. The VW Rabbit used the same type suspension and there may also be another possibility. Fred
