Has anyone done a complete powertrain swap between minitruck makes? I'm not expecting anything to bolt up, but are dimensions similar enough that one engine will physically fit in the space another came from? What about differences 4x2 to 4x4? I don't get the impression that many here are this deep into things, mechanically, but I'll never know unless I ask. Reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking about looking for a 4x4 with a non-smoking motor and non-neutered trans to donate its guts to my lefty. I'm sure another Mits would be easiest but that's kind of a big restriction when looking for potential donor thrashed trucks.
