Wondering if anyone has been affected by this recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/keitruck/s/IfwXlbEJOJ TLDR: You're no longer able to register kei vehicles under collector plates and soon existing owners will get their plates/registration revoked
Does anyone know if this decision only concerns certain states or if it is likely to spread elsewhere as well ? Tutuapp
Some states are now allowing them where they were not before (like Texas). Others, like PA have carved out a spot for them as antique vehicles, but don’t allow daily use registration. Some fully allow them on all roadways for any use, while others only allow them on roadways with 55 mph speed limits and under. Many states don’t allow them to be registered or titled for road use, and can only be off road. You just have to be sure of your states laws for Kei trucks. Or, be prepared to go the Montana route if you are determined to have one on the roads in your state that won’t register them for it.
I got the same letter in the mail today and reached out to Tiki Bunny Imports to see if I can help join the fight this and get WI to change their handling of Kei Trucks. GPT is advising I lean on registering in Montana.
