Wanted to start a thread on insurance. Ill leave it open to both US and Canada.

    Ill start it off:

    [UPDATED 1/16/2010]
    Location: AZ
    Insurance Carrier: Allstate
    Cost: 214USD/year
    Comp: 15/30
    Comp/Collision: 500.00 deductable

Notes: Formost would not write me a policy as they claim they only do offroad vehicles. Progressive would not write my policy because the "dont do offroad vehicles" (go figure). My insurance was written here in AZ for a small slice of the market which is offroad vehicles with occational on-road use. Neither Progressive or Formost would touch it.

    Location: Utah
    Insurance: Foremost Ins
    Cost: $169/yr
    Coverages/ deductible:

    bodily injury: 100/300,000
    passenger liabilty: included
    prop dam: 50,000
    optional equip: 500
    unisured motorist: 25/50,000
    collision: ACV (actual cash value)
    other than collision: ACV
    medical payments: 1,000
    deductibles: 500

I'm sure this was overkill on coverage, but better safe than sorry. In Utah these are "street legal ATV's." Foremost did not flinch about "being on the street" so to speak.

Great price and coverage... Wish mine was that good. I am thinking about adding collision just for the fun of it, as long as its not too too much....

Thanks everyone for posting, kinda helps set a benchmark i think....

Update, mine insurance was entered into the system incorrectly and the policy price dropped to 107/year basic liability, no collision.

    GEICO
    $235.30/ 6 month
    minimum coverage liability only
    $500.00 deductible

I think I need to shop around and get the knife removed from my neck. GEICO said they offered me this great deal only because they taged it on with my RV insurance.

Geico told me that they could attach mine to a homeowners policy for cheap, but they also "contract" toys (i.e. atv's, mini trucks, personal water craft etc) through Foremost insurance. That's who I use.

It took alot to get Geico to offer it throught the homeowners, I was told you have to push the subject with the right person that is willing to help you, and then they give it to underwriters that will approve it, like a special case scenario. But you HAVE to talk to only one person, even if they put "notes" on your account, others will not know what you are talking about, I had to call the same girl at Geico for updates. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing sometimes.

Formost is where Geico directed me as well. Formost quoted me a policy, but when i inquired about onroad use, the said there was no coverage it was strictly an offroad policy and that they didnt write policys for on road use, or occational on road use. There was a clause for their policy that mentioned crossing a road though, but it really didnt meet the spirit of what AZ MVD allows me (which is to acutally drive around on side streets ect).
