Thought this would be a good ongoing one. I'll start: I put wood rubrails and wooden divider boards on the truck box.
unloaded the little load of wood removed the LCA's in prep of the ball joint replacement test fit the projector beam back up lights
If you count stuff like that. I cleaned out close to 200 rds of brass from my truck… (had to bring it into auto pack and I don’t think they would like that…
Returned the speakers I bought from the store cause they SUKT Put in the nice Pioneers that I snagged at the wrecker for 1 nickel Also picked up the seats from the wrecker Found a set out of a Toyota Passeo - kinda rough, but I can see how they will fit nice Also grabbed a set of racing buckets outa a civic Don't think they will fit, but it was a seat sale so why not they look pretty much like this http://www.sz-wholesale.com/uploadFiles/upimg9/racing-seat_181759.jpg Also put replace my weenie horn with a Wolo Bad Boy Compact Air Horn http://www.amazon.com/Wolo-Model-419-Black-Design/dp/B000F5DQWY Just for fun
lol he is from Winnipeg, but close nuff lol got to dual use my truck today. got to take the gf to the hospital. she hurt her arm at work and couldn't drive her standard car.
re-installed the LCA's ball joints back ordered then I blew the valve stem out of the tractor and had to repair it and haul the tire out of the woods
Improved my quality of sound Just for sheets n geegles (seems to be a lot of that with these trucks) In an attempt to have a better - fuller - sound system ( and be a cheap-a$$ as well ) I wanted to try some little dome tweeters on the dash I figured all the tenny boppers in their civics have em why not me? I was not willing to pay the $40-$50 I have seen them for in the store so I got on ebay and lo-and-behold $1 and $1.29 to ship http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140430898905&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2356wt_1165 Soo I says to myself - self - why not - I'll by that for a dollar... Under a week to ship them here They were TINY About the size of a loonie around and about 3/4 of an inch thick Thought they were gonna suck bad But I tried em anyway Holy krapola batman !! They sound great!! Just enough to give it a more spacious sound I just ordered a few more I want some up on the pillars behind the seats, above my head they come with 2 way tape for mounting the little holders the speakers snap right in to the holder NOW who's spankin munkie butts???!!!
I got stuck in the sand again... and blew apart a front ring and pinion 5 miles from the trailer... bad day! This was the only differential that i had not opened up to install one of the lsd kits. it didn't have a drop of fluid in it:frustration:
Woo Hoo the mail came in !!! The mail came in and all the krap I ordered off ebay showed up.... so I had to put it all in. got my LED 1156 for the front driving lights and my LED 1157's for the tail lights Killer price too http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270611501875&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2238wt_1137 The wheel spacers came in !! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300456300383&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_4592wt_1165 This meant I could finally put on my 13 inch rims ! To be on the safe side I added the helper leaf springs i found while cleaning out some of the garage the other day. They gave it a little lift And hopefully a little more capacity May have to do an actual lift kit, but we will wait and see
Rebuilt front struts. Measured and ordered outer tie rods. Removed door panels for redo. EDIT: '93 Hijet S80lp LHD
Painted my steel rims for my "street tire" set of wheels semi-gloss black. Finished painting the bed. Went a little white trash and installed a black skull stick shifter knob Took it the gas station and filled it with premium. Played Joan Jett's greatest hits....
Today I ordered my new coil springs After putting on my wheel spacers And my 13 inch wheels The bigger wheels make a big difference a much smoother ride But now I find out that I need a bit of a lift Had to stick more coil spacers in just to even things out This of course sucked Makes for a pretty rough ride This of course forced me to do a ton more reading on the forum I found all the right info Tried finding something that will work at a couple different local parts places WOW do they suck nutz! Thanks to the info on the forum I found a local hot rod shop that brings in the right springs Today I removed my struts and measured the springs to be sure of the size. All is good, springs are ordered now. Can't wait to see the improvement. Springs should be here in a few days
Sounds good, teak wood is the best if you can get it I think. My truck is actually sheet metal bed sitting on top of 3/4" teak plywood. That then sits on 2x4 teak "joists" and they span the steel truck frame. So........ "wood is good" Show pics when you get the wood done. I had 1x4's in the box in my last wood bed truck
