Good day everyone! I recently acquired a 1991 Mitsubishi u42t. Problem is there is no motor or tranny. On a high note that gets me one step closer to a diffrent motor since it's already pulled. My plan is to use a 1.6l vw turbo diesel and a tranny/t-case from a geo tracker. Unfortunately the truck is not here yet to begin measuring and planning. Big issue I have thought of is the shifter location. Other issue is I'm not sure which side of the engine the drive shaft was originally on. I'd rather not have to be flipping axles. Can anyone else think of any other issues I may run in to on this adventure besides making it fit....? Thx in advance!
Sounds like a fun ride. I’d always thought of sticking a BMW boxer in one. They’re shaft drive and air cooled. No reverse though...
