The car in the image is a Mini. My first one, back in 2000. 998cc 4MT, with maybe a pinch more power than my '97, 658cc EN07C powered Sambar truck. :) (165/70 r10 Yokohama A008s on ROH Contessa wheels)

Now that I've paid the Mini tax, let's talk about kei-jidōsha and translating the pile of manuals I've been accumulating.

I really would like to get an AI translation of these PDFs. Right now I've got Subaru Sambar (KS/KV) and Vivio stuff, and that comes out to 2.4 GB, 456 individual files in 66 folders. Some of the PDFs are near 90 MB in size. Very graphically heavy. I don't want to sit here and split up a big PDF into 8 or 9 parts of 10MB ea, upload to Google Translate, download the translated one, then recombine - all for 1 file. No thank you.

I don't mind paying, it just has to be the right service. A lot of them I've found so far are all geared towards enterprise solutions. What about the individual nerd?

Hmm. Technically, the Wondershare PDF thingy *did* translate it... it's just.. it'd be nice to be able to read the translation.

LOL like everything technical I touch (and I have worked in IT since the mid 90s) ... it's a way more complex problem than it originally seems.

lol please provide your address so I can send you the bill for my registration and insurance for the next 5 years while I learn to read Japanese. ;) Kidding aside, it’s on the list of things I want to do!

Minis are fun. I’ve still got a ‘66 Austin Cooper S that I unfortunately need to sell. :( Kei stuff is super fun though!

Do you have an iPhone? If so Apple has a translation app with a camera feature. It's not a very elegant solution but I have used it in a pinch by pointing the camera at a pdf I am reading for real time translation of the text. Not perfect translation by any means but I can typically get the gist.
