I didn't know the tires on that truck looked so big up close. That is a winter tire you have on now? I wasnt too sure if that was the brand or the season of tire by looking at the label. Canadian tire always sell cheap tires, I remember getting some for my car and they sure didnt last long, but the price was cheap. That reminds me I should get some rotella T for my 93 VW golf.

yup. they are "Arctic Claw" tires. kinda sucks one came apart on me.. the stock 175R14 is a 175/80R14 over here which is the same as the toyota vans used sold here but that is a discontinued tire size.

I thought about canadian tire to but they didnt have any sales or tires of size in stock. Also kal tire does free repairs. and being i work at a landfill, its needed!

Yea whenever I need my tires repaired usually it is after a trip from the dump. Getting a nail stuck in it.

Looked at a LiteAce being serviced when I visited Japanoid in New Westminster BC. Quite roomy in the cab and the cargo area is huge!
I'm going to seriously consider one of these if we require another larger pickup.

Well on a normal drive to work/the dump I got stuck. And I mean stuck... I think it was down on the bar that goes between the frame and protects the motor/tranny. Funny thing is that I was still ON the road when I got stuck! Its been raining for a few days here now so thats why its so sloppy. Also doesnt help its clay around here!

well kind of an update. had the truck out in the hills this last week doing water well testing for seismic companies. one well I had to go over 2 hills higher then the truck and right after each other. on the way out i came down the hill too hard and i bent up that lower black bar on my truck. I hit bottom i guess and dragged to get out. LOL on the way up first time i misjudged the steepness of the hill and EVERYTHING on the dash was then on the floor! :D

im assuming they might have been a hit too steep over the top for a standard kei truck to get over successfully. not sure on the overhand of a standard kei truck but it might have been worse on the out come then mine.

here is the damage. doesnt look like much but its been done :(

note the bar used to be perfectly level and the ends that come up used to be the same distance from the truck.

good news everyone! now that i have Dr Farnsworth's voice stuck in your head, I have some good news! A local wrecker might have a parts van for me (domestic LHD). Gotta take a look at it and see what i can salvage. Its an AWD apparently.

Dang !! Ever since I showed my brother the pics of your Liteace, he keeps naggin me to watch and see if anyone is selling one!!

I have a question about it.
    That passenger side mirror...
Seems like it is at such strange angle.
It can't be to see your bumper.... so what about it?

My guess is that it is for seeing around other cars for passing.
    Please explain.
And a closer picture would be nice.

on the LH side the upper mirror is to see behind you and the circle mirror is to see in front of the truck for parking etc. Standard on most larger vehicles in japan. I have to tighten it again to. Was on highway the other day and high winds caused it to wrap around the side again... time for loctite!

got off my butt and took a pic for you lol

Thinking time for new tires again... wonder if i complain to kal tire or the manufacture if they will replace them? I had to replace one tire already because the bead wire came out of the rubber on the tire!

that's definately a defect if they are cracked like that after 1 year.go kick ass and take names at the tire place you got em from...my Miata's tires are 9 years old and no cracks (I know they are 4 years overdue to be changed but I can't wear em out:))
Your exhaust looks a bit chunky...time for the big rig stack to let that turbo breathe:D

  28. Stuff99

    Stuff99 Moderator Staff Member

ya right lol. i wish it was a turbo! I do want to stack it though just to get the black diesel smoke off my frickin tailgate!!

Gotta look my truck up on toyodiy.com and see if i can find new cv joints. if i turn it sharp it clanks and clunks..

Also that damn exhaust has a leak in it and that was replaced last fall to!

must have something to do with the dump mud you drive through all the time (seriously) maybe it's corrosive or something..anythings possible.to kill an exhaust and tires so quickly..wouldn't a regular toyota dealer be able to get you the cv ..they did sell the van 4x4 version in Canada of your truck...no turbo?? darn thought it was a turbo..stack'd still be cool:D

wish it was the 2C-T !!

I tried the toyodiy.com site and it says the part numbers for inner and outter parts but not the whole CV joint. the parts that came up though the nearest dealer (200km away) said they came up as parts for the previa van....http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_199109_TOYOTA_LITEACE+TRUCK_CM60-TBQDS_4302.html

Also tire dealership called me and said to come down sometime and they will get me into some safer tires... think ill wait to see what cooper tire says.
