Any one out there running 12x7 rim. I picked up a set of rims for my hijet(12x7 5+2 110mn), but having a hard time finding affordable tires that will fit. Been finding some tires, but they are design for golf carts , not minitrucks. Have to be dot and speed rated for the road. Not 4ply low speed golf cart tires. Thanks jim
The imported Off-Road trucks of the 80s came with that size wheel mounted with ”turf” tires as an option. And, other than golf cart and ATV tires you will be hard pressed to find anything which fits them.
Hey jigs Yeah, I'm finding that out. I purchased some 155/80-12 at walmart, but they were too narrow for that rim. Found some 215/50-12 golf cart tires that were dot, but the speed rating was too low. 50 mph.
for a 7" rim your getting into the 185/195 and above tire widths that become minimum, as for a regular passenger dot tire, I don't think there are any in a 12.
I ended up with 14X6 wheels, with 165/75R14s on my S110. I upgraded teh springs, and added a 2-inch lift, and haven’t had issues with them rubbing.
Bought the rims from G&R imports. I really don't think they should be selling them for minitrucks, if the only thing that fits on them is golf cart tires
Jim, I purchased 12x7 Delta Steel Wheels from Summit Racing, at about $40.00 apiece, 4x110, bolt pattern, threw some 23x8xR12 Maxxis Cerros, directional tires on it and I'm pretty happy with them, for my application!!! Plus their 6 ply, that was important to me! Limestone
Hey limestone I did a search on summit, but those tires didn't come up. Was that a while back? How was the ride with those tires? I was looking for a lt or passenger car tire . The thread doesn't have to be very aggressive. Looking for a smoother ride
Yeah, two diff. applications, mine and yours! I bought the Wheels from Summit in 2/2020, and picked up the tires from one of the guys here online, about a couple months back! They were in my top 3 choices when I was looking, and I have another set of tires and wheels, that came with it, for spares, but I will probably wind up with a third set eventually, as I move fore ward! Limestone
For something that is dot, but has a more LT inspired design the two I can think of off the top of my head are Tusk Terrabite or the Kenda Mastadon HT's Both have a larger minimum size available tho at 25x8x12 and are also both 8 ply
That is why I went to the 14X6 wheels. 90% of the time I’m buzzing around town, and to work, with occasional weekend trips out on some forest roads. So, I wanted a street tire, that would do ok in a bit of dirt, mud, and snow.
I wish I would've went with 14x6 rims also. Still haven't found a tire yet. Basically looking for the same type application , 90 percent road, little off road
If you cant find the Maxxis Ceros look for Duro frontier. Its the same thread pattern. I have those on my truck and have no problems so far.
Thanks for the reply. I looked up those tires and the tire thread seems kinda of aggressive for street use I really don't do any offroading
