Had the truck apart last fall for same issue!
Did not need a clutch then either but has new now!
When I took it apart the shaft itself would not move with nothing attached
I lube and cleaned all well and re lubed on assembly.
    Worked great all winter.
Sat a month and now wont move in gear clutch out half throttle!

    Ideas?

So my fix at moment is a return spring
I took a trampoline spring and mounted it with about a 1/8 or so of preload
Works but wow what a clutch peddle work out!

Those springs are pretty strong. Quite a bit of overload on pivots/linkages, gonna wear out quick. No way to lube/prevent from happening again? Could you possibly drill & tap for grease fittings?

Can only see the shaft at trans on that side.
But if I take starter off maybe see other side?
But short of pulling the trans as well?
I tried PB Blaster before, maybe WD40 next
and just work the peddle a bunch?
