Taking out the Fuel Cut Off Solenoid Valve on the carburettor

Does anyone know how to remove the Fuel Cut-Off Solenoid Valve?

The manual says to use needlenose pliers (see attached photo).

There is a screw and what looks to be a plate in there, too, but I'm having trouble loosening that, and I'm worried about it stripping more (see attached photo).

I want to take the carb off my 1998 minicab U42T to clean it.

Maybe I don't need to take it out. I didn't see this connection (see attached photo) thats on carbs for sale, but I'll keep looking.
