I was thinking about trying this out if the next visit to the mechanic doesn't work, but i don't know if this "trick" only applies to Turbos and i want to get a replacement for the PCV tube/hose bit before i go hacking notched into it. Anyone tried this? My (non-turbo) '96 Every keeps leaking oil at every startup and while running. It still runs great but the oil drip's coming out around the bottom of the timing belt cover, so.... a little worrying.
I would check the seals on the crank and the camshaft first. Usually the need to be replaced when doing the timing belt.
Had the crank & camshaft seals replaced with the timing belt and it didn't leak for maybe a week or two but then it started up again for some reason. Maybe the pressure buildup in the engine that the guy mentioned in the video? idk, i don't have the tools (or the experience) to access the crank & cam. The timing belt only has 30k kilometers on it but I figure if they're going to be checking out the crack & camshaft seals they may as well replace the timing belt again in case any oil got up in there.
