Hello! I am looking for a transfer case for a Suzuki carry that has the 4x4 low range. I think they came on the trucks that had the 4 speed transmissions. I will also need the linkage for the transfer case. I am located in Massachusetts. Thank you!
The transfer case is a part of the transmission, at least it was on my 1992 DD51T 5spd.. To get the low range you have to go to a 4spd transmission
Really? My transfer case is bolted to my transmission and comes apart. I believe I can just bolt a transfer case with low right up to my 5 speed transmission.
Mine is bolted together, not one unit. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LVIqEjiCQoYuXvx_4ExkvqbBOjkEsnT2/view?usp=drivesdk
Did you end up doing anything to get 4x4 low? I'm looking to do the same thing (currently only 4x4 high). I was going to look for another transmission to swap from 5spd to 4spd with 4x4 low.
I have had no luck doing this project. I am still unsure of the transfer case from the 4 speed will bolt up directly to my 5 speed.
There are some very knowledgeable people at G&L imports, just google them, they have a mini truck grave yard! And that’s all they do is rehab them. I’m sure they can give you any information you need
Any new info? Looking on megazip for a 94 dd51t the transfercase housing for the 4speed hi lo and the 5speed with ul is the same part.

Looking at the transfer case housings on Amayama, the 4low variant seems to be thicker. It may mate up fine to the transmission, but it may result in an overall longer transmission/transfer case combo which could need custom mounts or adjusted drive shaft lengths The drive shaft slip joint may be enough to account for it, but not sure
Looking at the transmission specs on Amayama maybe there was a 5 speed transmission with a 4x4hi/low transfer case. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/suzuki-japan/carry/281_da51t/transmission/241 There are many transmissions listed here. Each transmission has two schemas. Going top to bottom 4MT (which I assume to be 4 speed 4x4 with typical hi/low config) 5MT:2WD (which is a 5 speed transmission without 4x4, so no transfer case) 2X4MT (4 speed transmission without 4x4) EL+5MT (5 speed transmission with 4x4 that we typically see without a hi/low transfer case) 5MT:4WD (5 speed transmission with 4x4. Unsure what transfer case this would have, but I would assume it'd be the hi/low variant)
