Rocky Mountain Imports is offering Subaru Sambar rebuilt engines on an exchange basis. We have several carb engine cores in stock we are currently rebuilding. All engines come with a build sheet and a 6 month warranty. Machining work performed on all engines: Engines are completely stripped and inspected Block is decked Cylinder head is tested and plained Cylinder bores are honed Piston rings are gapped and pistons installed. Typical parts replaced are: Piston rings Crankshaft main bearings Crankshaft thrust washers Connecting rod bearings All gaskets and seals Crankshaft if required Oil Pump Oil pressure sensor Timing belt Timing belt tensioner Waterpump Exchange price for engine not requiring the crankshaft being replaced is roughly $2200 and $2800 if crankshaft replacement is required. Prices will vary with parts and machining required. There is a $500 core charge that will be refunded when core is returned. Fuel injected and supercharged engines requiring reconditioning will have to be shipped to us as we do not have these cores in stock currently.
