The ECU on my 99 TT2 Sambar shit the bed. They're not too expensive to get a replacement. I'm assuming since it's fairly simple I can just get another ECU that's for the TT2 and manual transmission and it should work, but don't see much information about it. So is this possible and if it is does it need to be a 99 or can I do up to a 2006/7 since they use the same type? Or would it be worth the effort of going Megasquirt or Speeduino to help future proof it
From the info on Oh Kei Garage, the early TT2 had a single fuel injector and later ones (mid 2001 + up) had multipoint (4). All supercharged ones were multipoint. Yours is a '99 so it would have a single fuel injector. Therefore I think you would need an ECU from a similar truck. Have a look at your engine to make sure what you have.
yeah I didn’t mean take one from a supercharged one, but another EN07F. Do you have the link for the Oh Kei Garage info? I do think that maybe only a few models were single injection which is a good point
It was in one of his videos. I don't remember which one. I googled it and found the same information elsewhere. I'm shopping for a Sambar and I want one with 4 injectors but also it needs to be 25 years old to be legal in Quebec. If there is a number on the ECU, you may be able to use it to find a new\ used one.
This video talks about the differences between 5th and 6th gen Sambars. EFI vs carb starts about 4 minutes in.
Here's a good source...https://autoparts.beforward.jp/sear...ort=sort_new_arrivals&limit=20&direction=desc
Yeah shortly after I made this post I already ordered one off there. Should be here tomorrow so fingers crossed! Thanks for the suggestion
Do you have EN07F? Or does it end in V or Y? Take a look at this catalog page that lists the engines by year: https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/subaru-japan/sambar/TT2
