I am doing a head job on a dihatsu hijet S83W engine and am having a hard time finding some parts. I need the head gasket and intake gasket.
    Couple questions...
    1) does anyone make a multi-layer head gasket for these? I can’t find one.

    2) are engine parts interchangeable between a S83w and a S83P?

    thanks!!

Generally parts swap between the vans, and the trucks. For your head gasket, it will depend on which version of the engine you have. They both use the EF series 660-cc engine. But some of them have a single cam, and a carburetor, some have the dual cam with fuel injection, and some have the twin cam FI, and a turbocharger. With the dual cam, FI engine more common in the vans, and the dual cam FI turbo, the rarest, and typically in the higher trim package vans.

There should be a plate under the drivers seat, with the serial number, paint code, and engine series.

Yes mine is the single cam with carburetor model of the 660 engine.

Quite a few of the online dealers have the gasket sets available. And, they can be found on eBay. EF, single cam engine
