Trying to remove headlight assemblies ( DA52 / DB52 ). Screws are out and they are loose but don't want to come out even with force. Something is holding them back. Is that a clip on the bottom?

Im betting it a friction type connection that pops in and out. But I could be wrong.

Maybe its like the gen 9 front panel and theres a knob or nut that has to be turned or removed to get it out.

I have a DB52 as well and I just pulled my headlight assemblies a couple days ago to swap the lamps for LEDS. I thought I was going to break the assemblies, so I did a search for a how-to, but no one actually shows how to remove them. There's a metal friction pin at the bottom on the back of the headlamp assembly (see your schematic) and it's TIGHT. Grab both sides as best you can, brace yourself and pull HARD on it, straight back and it should pop out eventually. Make sure you brace yourself so you don't stumble backward.
