I have been a Subaru Sambar guy, but just picked up a 2000 Suzuki Carry with a blown engine. After removing the seats it does look like the engine could be removed up through the cab opening after removing the transmission. Maybe I will just drop the whole assemble out the bottom and lift the truck up enough to slide out. I don't have a hoist so it is more of a challenge. I can't find anything on You Tube on removing an engine from one of these. Also, where is the best place to get a used engine? I have already inquired with G&R Imports, waiting for a reply. This one appears to have kicked a rod out the side of the block, will know more as I am going into the shop now to start ripping into it.
After pulling off a few things and getting it up on jack stands, it will come out the bottom easily. Picture is of the hole in the block where there should not be a hole.
Engine out and torn down, complete carnage and destruction. Hard to believe it still ran on 2 cylinders.
Should have done some research. I need an engine and they are not easy to find. I am in Western Canada.
I got a short block from California along with all the rebuild parts I need. Will start reassembling soon. I also have an order of parts in from Japan that I need.
I got it running and sold, some time ago. Once I got the block it was easy as parts are all available. I got all the parts from Todd at Minitruck Garage. Mention my YouTube channel Turnbull Garage and you can get a break on the price of parts. If he doesn't have and engine or the parts you need, he will probably know were else to look. I didn't do a video of the engine overhaul, that was when I was just starting to think about starting a channel. I do have a full video on a 2002 Suzuki Carry engine overhaul, but that is a K6A engine, I suspect you have an F6A engine. Similar, yet quite different.
