Need some advice on how to take the old radio out of my 94 Suzuki not like a normal radio and I dont want to break anything. Any one thats removed one I would like some pointers I want to install new fm radio but worried noise from from alternator might cause interference any one delt with this problem.
It was simple in my '99 Carry. Remove dash panel (3 screws and turn on flashers), then remove 4 screws holding the factory radio in. Remove the mounting brackets from factory radio and put them on the new one. Install 4 mounting bracket screws, replace dash panel (3 screws and turn off flashers). Done. You have to get a bit physical with the dash panel. You also must turn on the emergency flasher to remove it. Everything is a tight fit. Took me 45 minutes to swap my factory AM radio out for a new Jensen HD5112 and add 2 Lightning Audio B.40.2 90watt speakers. It will rock in that little cab.
My '05 minicab was exactly like you'd replace the radio in any American car, and I'd assume the models from the nineties are also quite close. You do have to get physical with some of the panels to get them to un-clip, but they'll usually some without breaking anything. I put a kenwood cd player with an input for my I-pod and some self-contained marine speakers in my van. It really sounds pretty good.... -Andy
