Hello Y'all, I can't seem to find much information on power steering for these little trucks. I have heard the carry and sambar are electric. I would assume they are column driven. Does anyone know if the Hijet is electric power steering? I am looking for both the S110p and S210p. Thanks for the help!
Not really an answer to your question but I do regret buying one without power steering. I'm strongly considering one of these electric universal column kits. To the best of my knowledge, neither the. S110 or S210, had power steering available. I think the first Hijets with power steering were the 300 series. Which have live ends on both ends of the rack. If you’re handy you might be able to get one in and working.
Search 'ePowerSteering.com' and 'therangerstation.com' for some info on add-on electric power steering. The first one is a business, the 2nd website is for ford ranger pickups, then search 'Toyota Electric Power Steering for a lot of info using units pulled from junkyards, includes a lot of unit sizes, wiring, & such. Well worth reading for the wealth of info included in the article. Using junkyard parts, might be able to do with 100 bucks or thereabouts. Fred

My s110p automatic transmission hijet had power steering. I assume it was electric because it had a big circuit board for power steering and no power steering fluid reservoir.
