Picked up my 1o98 Honda Acty SDX today at the port of Tacoma. They brought it to me running. I drove it up on the trailer and brought it home. It fired right up and I backed it off the trailer and drove it around the block and it ran out of gas. I put some gas in it and now it will start but if I try to press on the throttle it dies and if I start it and let it idle it dies. Do I have air in the fuel line? Sediment in the fuel filter? And other ideas are deeply appreciated. I know I have a lot to learn about this thing. I’m ordering a new fuel filter to tule that out

So my neighbor came over to help me get this thin running again. So far no luck. I am a noob but he is pretty knowledgeable about engines but doesn’t know the Acty. I changed out the fuel filter first. Then we made sure the fuel pump is working. Then we checked and verified fuel is getting to the carburetor. We opened the carburetor plastic box and opened the carb and sprayed carb cleaner into the top got it to turn over and run and then it wants to die so if we spray more carb cleaner in it will run. After hours of reading and searching I’m wondering if it is the fuel relay or one of the 2 solenoids on the carburetor or ignition control module. Anyone have any ideas?

    Was this ever solved?

Spraying a combustible into the car tells you all is okay otherwise. Fuel is getting to the carb ,but is not flowing into it for atomizaion. While not familiar with the Acti carb, others have a float inside that bowl where the gas enters. Some have a filter just prior to that connection. The function of the float is to activate a 'pintle' that shuts off the fuel flow into the bowl, when full IF that is working then a jet or other orifice may be plugged up,not allowing he fuel to flow into the throat where it mixed with incoming air. Further clue is that the accelerator pump, used to rev the engine and help increase power under load [momentarily] is also not squirting extra fuel, due to the same bowl empty blockage reason.
