I have been wondering what the perfect tire and wheel size would be for these mini trucks to save the most power you can? Tall? Skinny Tires? Larger Wheels? Theoretically speaking what would be a perfect size for both?
The reason I ask is because my friend and I are thinking about manufacturing wheels and tires for our truck my friends family have been in the wheel and tire business for a while know and they have lots of experience.
IMO and its just an opinion as im sure different uses would require different sizes to be considered perfect..... However IMO the perfect wheel size for a mini truck would be 12x5 or 13x5 and the perfect tire size would be 23x7, this tire size eliminates the need to go any higher than 2" lift which just causes more problems than its worth again IMO, also going taller than 23" really starts to hurt the power in high range on these trucks....They just arent geared low enough to pull a 25"+ tire to 50 MPH.
That's what i was thinking as well it seems like a lot of you guys want a street legal off road tire?
Its not even so much about being "street legal" as it is about being a tire that can handle the wear of asphalt better than atv type tires....A 23" OD super swamper would be a killer tire on these trucks but there just isnt anything like that out there....Also the 7" wide wheels although they work good its just too wide, there is no reason to have them that wide when a 4" wide or 5" wide wheel would be excellent.
