Paying it forward

    A little background first.

I have a 97 Suzuki Carry that I purchased from Mich Trucks. A few months after I got it I decided to put in a lift kit so I could add bigger tires. Did a lot of research here and decided to go with a 2" lift kit that included rear leaf springs. I wanted the extra leaf as I would be hauling heavy loads. Bought the kit from a vendor that used to be on here. The front lift was a real pain to install as it seemed I could not get the truck high enough to get the lift in. Finally got it to work but ended up with a wicked camber angle that would cause severe binding.

I contacted the vendor for assistance but was told he puts them on all the time and doesn't know why this one is an issue. I checked with other vendors and found that for my Suzuki nothing greater than 2" will work correctly. I took the lifts back out and measured them. They came to 2 5/8". I contacted the vendor and pointed out these were too large for my vehicle. Again I was told he installs these all the time and that I must have put them in wrong. I'm not a mechanic but neither am I stupid.

I contacted Steven at Mich Trucks and explained what I was trying to do and asked for his advice. To my surprise, Steven sent me one of his lift kits absolutely free! He even paid the shipping fees.

Now the good part. I recently cleaned my shop and found the lift kit I purchased from the other vendor. Since Steven at Mich Trucks was kind enough to make something right that was not his and did me a huge favor, I am going to pay his kindness forward.

The first person that responds here saying they want it, I will send you the lift kit I originally bought (minus the leaf springs but includes the rear shackles) for free. I will even pay the postage. I have included a picture of the kit I'll be sending.

Very important! This lift kit measures 2 5/8" and caused severe binding on my Suzuki. It may or may not on yours. It definitely would have wrecked my CV joints. Keep this in mind if you decide you want it.

Again, this is free and I'll pay the shipping. I'm paying forward the kindness that Steven at Mich Trucks showed me.

Thanks for the post! I am sure someone can put the lift to good use, very kind of you! I too am a believer in Karma... and Mich Trucks is now on the top of my"'buy from list" for my next part that I need and they carry, no matter the price. We are a small market and word of mouth works, and need to support the good suppliers!

  5. That Michtrucks guy is a good fellow. Very nice to replace a lift you didn't buy from him and what a good idea to pay it forward.

He has an ad at the top of the pages and is one of the sites sponsors. The web address is: michtrucks.com .

As long as I have my Suzuki (no plans to get rid of it), I'll be buying my parts and accessories from Mich Trucks.

Gung Ho, your right, Steven at Mich Trucks is a good guy, so are you and a lot of other dealers and part suppliers. Because of this example and some things I know of that you and others have done, is the very reason that our love of these trucks is growing.
These examples are what makes it hard for some one who has been reading this site decide on whom to buy from. By that I mean, we want to buy from someone who is in it for the long haul, honest, and that cares about the customers. You guys and gals have shown us that if we look to you, we have made good choices. Thanks. And I do mean thanks. Your commitment is what we as customers look for.
As for the paying it forward, that is something Sheryl and I have done for years, and it has brought us more blessings and true friends than we could ever imagine. Trust me, you are doing more than the right thing.
Again, thanks guys and gals, my hat is off to you all for doing the right things, your the examples we really need in this business.
