Opening in bottom of transmission housing

Hello, I just bought a 95 Hijet. While doing some other work under the vehicle, I noticed an opening in the bottom of the transmission housing, right below the clutch plate (maybe 2" x 4"?) This would allow all sorts of water, dirt, etc into this housing. This can't be right? I'm guessing some type of flexible cap must cover this opening? Any help?
    Thanks, Steve

Should be where the clutch cable attaches ? Yes, there should be a rubber plug pressed in there. Unless you are running through a lot of water I wouldnt worry about it. Ive seen a number of trucks over the yrs. that they were missing. Doesnt take much to knock it off.
Inner tube and some gorilla snot would work?

I would feel better if it were covered. I have to figure something out.
    Thanks for the info, Steve
