Just bought a couple of Subaru Sambars. Picked them both up for $500 from a rancher near by. Neither one ran and one was wrecked in the front (driver door and windshield). The wrecked one is for parts, and it all looks to be in really good shape. The engine and tranny are sitting in the bed (very convenient for pulling parts). It looks to be about a 1991. The other one seems to have been ran pretty hard. It was seized up and sitting for about 5 years. Got it running, but having some troubles. Had to change the distributer cap, plugs and wires, thermometer was stuck shut, air filter was full of mud, oil was tar, and gas was bad. Anyways that is where I'm at with it. Next step: clean up the carburetor on the parts motor and see if that helps it run better. Excited to finally get one of these cool little trucks.
Welcome aboard. Some good folks and some good info here. Sounds as if you are already digging in. Fred
